For people with light, thin and dry skin the signs of aging starts to show when turning 40. The skin gets strained by leading a stressful life, lack of sleep and changing weather conditions. Even sauna and workouts in different temperatures will strain the skin. In worst cases your skin adopts a shade of grey and there is a risk for developing couperose and changes in pigmentation may become visible.
UVB-rays damage your skin and cause your skin to age prematurely. By protecting your own collagen from deteriorating you can maintain the skins elasticity and the sensitivity towards changeable weather conditions decreases. The polyphenolic combinations of the blueberry protect the collagen from decay and from harmful UVB-rays.
Keep your skin young
Our Detria Arbutin® product lines have a mixture of the polyphenolic combinations of the blueberry and arbutin extracted from bearberry that will keep your skin younger longer. By using Detria Arbutin® product lines you prevent the collagen from deteriorating, strengthens your skin and reduces couperose as well as dark hyper pigmentation of the skin.
Protect your skin while you are outside
In creams that you use outdoors there should not be grease added to the cream for the reason that it will lie as a film on your skin and increase the risk of frostbite. Detria Arbutin Couperosa Eye Gel is grease-free and give a good protection while being outdoors in the cold.
Hot summer days on the beach will exert your skin to the outmost
The ultraviolet rays of the sun help your skin to produce vitamin D and the sun also helps some people with allergies. Nevertheless does the skin need protection while in the sun and Arbutin Serums and Arbutin Day Creams give you a good protection and help you attain an even sun tan while also preventing couperose to appear.
Your skin is revived during the night
Cell production is revived while sleeping. By using Arbutin Night Creams you quicken the skins ability to regain elasticity and luster.
Couperose is a problem found especially in persons with fair skin. It is common among the people of the Northern Hemisphere. The causes are usually genetic factors, changing weather conditions, and sheer dry skin.
Couperose appears most commonly as redness on cheekbones, nose and sides of the nose. Blood vessels are dilated and blood circulation weakened in the red area. Some disrupted blood vessels may also be visible.
The first implications are redness and occasional hotness of the cheeks. Dilated capillaries appear in the red area, which look as red or bluish lines on the skin.
Couperose usually develops on dry, sensitive, and sheer skintypes where capillary walls have weakened and capillaries are close to the surface.
Couperose is genetic, but changes in temperature, harmful impact of the sun, smoking, and alcohol make it worse. Sensitive skin becomes easily irritated as a result of rubbing, but low temperatures and sauna also put it to a test.
People suffering from couperose should protect their skin as much as possible from big changes in temperature, both in winter and in summer, and avoid hot sauna steam. Cream with stronger sunblock filter should be used for protection against sun, and direct sun avoided by covering with clothes, hats, sunglasses, and sunshades.
Couperose skin requires continuous long-term treatment, protection, and regular moisturizing. When treatment is interrupted, the symptoms reappear. Untreated couperose does not heal, but can instead turn into rosacea, which is a more complicated condition that may require medical treatment.
Atopic dermatitis appears in about 5% of adults. The diagnosis cannot be done by any blood or skin test, but it is based on the dry, itchy skin and in typical rash for atopic skin. The reason for the skins dryness is lack of natural oils and fats called ceramides. It has been noticed that natural Arbutin antibiotic properties prevents atopic skins inflammation and calms it down. Arbutin also protects the atopic skin from radicals. Detria Arbutin and Arctic Arbutin products can be used to treat atopic skin.
Pigmentation means coloring. Skin pigmentation disorders affect the color of your skin. Skin cells give your skin color by making a substance called melanin. When these cells become damaged or unhealthy, it affects melanin production. Some pigmentation disorders affect just patches of skin. Others affect your entire body.
Liver spots or melasma (chloasma) is a very common skin disorder. Though it can affect anyone, young women with brownish skin tones are at greatest risk. Melasma is often associated with the female hormones estrogen and progesterone. It is especially common in pregnant women, women who are taking birth control pills (oral contraceptives) and women taking hormone replacement therapy (HRT) during menopause. Sun exposure is also a strong risk factor for melasma. The condition is particularly common in tropical climates.
Melasma usually affects women; only one in twenty affected individuals are male. It generally starts between the age of 30 and 40. It is more common in people that tan well or have naturally dark skin compared with those who have fair skin.
Melasma affects the forehead, cheeks and upper lips resulting in macules (freckle-like spots) and larger patches. Occasionally it spreads to involve the sides of the neck, and a similar condition may affect the shoulders and upper arms. Melasma is sometimes separated into epidermal (skin surface), dermal (deeper) and mixed types.
Melasma doesn’t cause any other symptoms besides skin discoloration but may be of great cosmetic concern. A uniform brown color is usually seen over the cheeks, forehead, nose, or upper lip. It is most often symmetrical (matching on both sides of the face).
Freckles and birthmarks
By using Natural Arbutin Serum you can prevent your freckles from getting darker in the sun. Birthmarks are different from freckles in a way that they do not darken under sun exposure. Birthmarks will not be affected by Natural Arbutin Serum.
Age spots (lentico senilis) are like regular freckles but somewhat larger in size. They appear when the skin is exposed to sunlight and tend to increase with age. Experiences with Arbutin on these spots are of varying results.
Café au lait -spots
Café au lait –spots are lighter and larger than liver spots and they usually appear on the body. The treatment of these spots is usually long but there is usually some improvement.
Vitiligo is lighter spots on the skin. The reason as to why these spots appear is still unknown and they usually appear around the age 10-30. Arbutin is not effective on these spots.
Cosmetics and pigment changes
Pigment changes that appear due to cosmetics usage during sun exposure are mostly visible in the face and on the neck. The spots are darker and of a reddish brown color. These spots usually appear on people of middle age and believe has its origin cosmetics usage or due to hormonal changes. The pigment changes can also appear dues to usage of perfume in the sun. The treatment result with Arbutin on these spots has given positive results depending on what level of damage the pigment change have already caused on the skin.
Detria Arbutin Serum and Arctic Arbutin Serum are used to bleach excessive brown pigmentation. The best results are obtained when pigment changes are in the outermost layer of the skin and / or when the product is used as a preventative. Treatment time for the normal excessive pigmentation is about 2 months. In freckles caused by age, treatment results will vary and the treatment time is longer.
Results with variation (treatment time over 2 moths):
By means of the sun’s ultraviolet radiation, Vitamin D is produced in the skin and the sun eases the symptoms of some skin diseases. On the other hand, sunlight can also age the skin prematurely and cause changes in pigment. Many sun-worshippers are bothered by the uneven tanning caused by UV radiation. Natural arbutin is an effective suppressor of melanin production, for which reason it is used as a skin lightener. It also slows down the signs of ageing and protects against harmful UV rays. Arctic Arbutin Serum and Detria Arbutin Serum prevent and remove liver spots. In order to achieve the best results, it is good to start using the product in March when the amount of UV radiation begins to increase. When setting off in search of the Sun, use of the product should be started about two weeks before you leave and should be continued throughout the trip in the mornings and evenings. The product itself contains natural sun protection but, when sunbathing, it is also advisable to use high-factor sunscreen.
Arctic Arbutin Serum and Detria Arbutin Serum can also be used to soothe the skin after sunbathing or if the skin has been burned by the sun.
